Rise
It was a hot, balmy Summer night and the parade was a display of colour, lights and incredible community atmosphere. Rise and Living Proud staff donned their 50th Golden Anniversary shirts, adding a bit of extra gold, glitter and glam to the event.
CEO Justine Colyer brought an amazing energy to the event, while our Right to Belong Champion and NDIS Community Senior Coordinator Casey Richards thanked the crowd for their applause and Aged Care Service Delivery Senior Coordinator, Karen Wittcomb kept them mesmerised with her shimmering wings. Meanwhile, Manager of Aged Care Service Delivery, Lee Vaughan made sure not to leave a single audience member hanging for a high five.
The atmosphere before the march was equally festive, with food vans, music, and various agency setups in the park. It was a great opportunity for Rise staff to mingle and draw inspiration for future events.
"I loved being part of the march! There was an overwhelming sense of community, all being together to support everyone around us be who they are at all times. It was an empowering night for all and I will certainly be doing it again!"
