Rise
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Introduction to Peer Work
Course at Rise, which has just concluded with outstanding results. This course, a cornerstone of our commitment to empowering individuals through lived experience, began with five enthusiastic participants. We are proud to report that four of them completed the course, demonstrating remarkable dedication and growth.
Overview of the Introduction to Peer Work Course
The Introduction to Peer Work Course
is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to support others on their recovery journey using their own lived experience. Over six weeks, participants engaged in intensive training that covered a wide range of topics, including recovery principles, workplace communication, understanding mental illness, and the art of sharing personal stories safely. Each session was interactive, ensuring that participants not only learned but also practiced new skills in a supportive environment.
Participant Feedback
The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the value and impact of the course. One participant shared, "Both Hayden and Luke are skilled in their own areas, which makes them very skilled presenters. The exposure to presenting my story safely was most valuable because it helped me face my fears." Another participant expressed, "The course was great, and I have definitely learned plenty of new things. Thank you Hayden, Luke, and everyone involved."
These testimonials reflect the course’s success in providing a safe and nurturing space for personal and professional growth.
Looking Ahead
Given the success of this course and the positive impact it has had on our participants, we are excited to announce that we will be running another Introduction to Peer Work Course
soon. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are on their recovery journey and eager to use their experiences to inspire and support others.
